Stay tuned by getting your yearly check up! I’m having mine next month. This jazzy card was inspired by vintage sheet music and glitter foam cut outs I found in Walmart. Super cute, colorful, and crazy fun! I added a 20s inspired choker at the neck. The idea for that came from a book I’m reading. It’s called 1929 and follows three couples through the stock market crash and the great depression. They go from riches to rags… Quite good and you really do fall in love with the characters.
That’s it for now.. tomorrow’s Day 25 in my BCA Month ATC series so drop by for a bit of bling. It’s got an India inspired flair.
Mew! This little cat ATC is quite unique. Using collaging papers I layered the spotted body over striped green that I sponged orange around the edges. I unraveled jute to create whiskers and used a wooden ‘button’ painted with sequin paint in black. To add more whimsy I glued small orange rhinestones and bits of false eyelashes and added some green leaves to represent the catnip.
Tomorrow I have old and blue to share… so stay tuned!
Git r’ Done! Lets find that cure! Using EKG strip paper I layered it on the the ATC card and used a red glitter paint to add pizzazz. I used cheesecloth to wrap the body after painting it flesh tone. I added a Band-Aid and the Rx stickers as well as the For the Cure text. I finished it by sponging the edges of the body with black ink. Day 22 Done!
As promised I have just a few things I picked up at Walmart that I thought I’d share.
Lipsticks and eyeliners… along with a champagne colored eye shadow pencil. The pencils are copper and slate grey. I have green eyes with gold flecks so my eyes sometimes appear brown… this gives me some flexibility and expands my palette for eye makeup shades.
For Halloween! This is going to be fun. I’m probably the only nail lover out there that has yet to try the crackle polishes… but with the green! Oh my gosh… This is a wonderful trick or treat surprise for myself. Nail Candy!
Drop by tomorrow to keep up with my BCA Month series. We’re down to the singe digits now.
As the leaves turn and the air chills, we prepare for winter by putting away our summer toys and stock up on cocoa. Don’t forget to buy a sweater to keep yourself warm this winter.
Today’s BCA Month ATC is brought to you by the letter S for Snowflakes! I brought on the bling for sparkle and that icy look that brings chills and makes us each grab our hoodies to keep ourselves toasty!
Tomorrow I’ll share my mini beauty haul I got on Friday while out grabbing groceries. I hit Walmart on the way home and browsed the beauty isles for something in particular that I had read up on. I’ll share it along with some reviews and I’ll add my two cents. See you then… until later! I’m off to make breakfast for the famished family. TaTa…
This is my son’s version of grocery day Jenga. I had to grab my camera and snap a picture because I thought it was a hilarious way to make fun and games out of unpacking the grocery bags. It’s towering infoodhno. Yeah… you don’t have to tell me how bad that play on words was. I can hear the groans from here.
Moving right along… lets get back to BCA Month. Today is quite fun. Inspired by the twilight movies I made this…
This one is simple yet stunning. I used a white illustration board ATC and dripped red acrylic paint from the top. Then I cut the body from black glitter paper and dripped more red paint. After adhering the body to the background I used black jute and strung the vampire teeth beads glued them in place and they are ready to take a bite out of breast cancer!
About time…literally. I the process for this ATC was fun. For the gear I used hardware I picked up at Home Depot. It was silver in color so I used some Aleene’s Tacky Glue and dabbed it on with a paintbrush. I then dumped orange embossing powder all over them to get good coverage… melted it with my heat gun and repeated the process. I really like how they turned out. The clock center is a maize colored brad and the clock is an embellishment I got from the craft store. The rest is hand cut collage papers. Again I used my trusty texture on the background and sponged the edges of both the card and the body with black ink from a stamp pad.
Happy Friday! I love Fridays! Today is my shopping day and it time for me to go remake my shopping list so I’ll say ado here and see you again tomorrow for Day 20! in my BCA Month ATC series. God Bless!
Oh my gosh this was so fun! I started with a precut Kraft ATC and used some decade+ old twisted craft paper with this awesome bandana print. I glued it to a precut dressmaker cardboard shape I’d made and let it dry. I added the fibers and cut the cowboy boots from leather looking paper. The spurs are actually tiny clockworks that I bought in an assorted packet. I painted the soles of the boots and the cross strap to add a bit of detail and finished this off with some black texture on the background.
I love the western look this has. I screams wild west. I’ve been diligently working on ATCs for the rest of the months posts and have a few in advance now for the weekend. I like to be a bit ahead so I can get them photographed during daylight hours.
I’ll be back tomorrow with one of my personal favorites to share so come back soon for more mini art in my recognition of BCA Month!
While adding the finishing touches on today’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month ATC I grabbed for some old school glitter glue I haven’t used in forever. I noticed that the glue wasn’t shaking to the tip so I squeezed the bottle and it was extremely brittle from age and it just exploded! I haven’t touched any of it … I’m letting it dry and I’ll be using the glitter litter for something clever down the road which should be lots of fun.
Button Up! This card is fully loaded with glitter and sparkly and topped off with buttons to fasten to keep you warm through the icy winter. Lots of gold and pink and brown. Sweet at pie!
Peace of Mind! Get your exam this month. I’ve reached the halfway point in my series to do my share for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It’s a challenging endeavor to say the least. I’m working on tomorrows card and had some foil glue drying…. I turned to finish off some bling and my embellishments have disappeared off my desk. I’m convinced there is a mysterious vortex in my studio that I’m losing items… and my mind to!
I “misplaced” several other items and after a complete cleaning of desk and studio…the missing supplies remain missing. Time for some more serious prayer. Maybe then I’ll have Peace of Mind too!
I’ll be back tomorrow with Day 17. See you then!
Life is a Beach! Enjoy it while you can. Day 15 of my Breast Cancer Awareness Month Series.
