As for my easel… here’s the progress I’ve made thus far on my latest…
I’ll be working more on this tomorrow. It’s time for me to head downstairs and start scaring up something for dinner. It’s pork roast for tonight so I need to get it in the oven soon.
I’m finally “almost” ready to start in on this cardboard shadowbox. I’m going to dress the “doll” up in frills and add some bling to this to make is a silk purse! Tomorrow is dentist day again so I’m hoping to get to this on Wednesday… I did manage to get a bit creative this morning however… I fancied up my fingertips.
See you Wednesday to share my shadowbox progress.
While out shopping for unmentionables I ran across a few items I thought I’d share with you. Who knew that you could buy crayons by color. A box of pink! OMG! I should have bought 2. I thought that it might just be a fun adventure to make my own lipstick with these… there are tutorials all over the internet. Or maybe melt them onto a canvas. Now I wish I’d bought more.
I did a manicure for the trip to my parents that I’m now back from. I spent 3 nights visiting with my mom and dad and my brother and his family while they were up from Texas. I washed a LOT of dishes so at the end of the visit my manicure was destroyed (as I knew it would be.) But it was fun to rock this look for the first day and a half.
This is Mint Sorbet by Sally Hansen with slices of fruity fimo cane! This was a hit with the family. Very summery and flirty.
I’m doing a new manicure tomorrow as it’s Monday and my “primping” day. I’ll share with you then.
I picked up a gorgeous new nail polish to brighten my mood. I’ve fallen in love with the new spring/summer pastels that are out. They make your nails look so happy. I bought a pretty pink, two different shades of pastel yellow and this unbelievable blue. I love Sally Hansen nail polishes. They always wear well and have awesome color! Plus I’m a gi-normeous fan of the pro brushes they have in these Insta-Dri bottles. It makes for a flawlessly fast manicure.
Today I’m working some more on a bird painting that has a life of it’s own. It’s taking me on a path that I hadn’t intended when I started it. I guess that’s why I don’t normally “plan” art. So it’s time to put my hiking boots on and let this bird take me on a hike.
Paint with passion!
Happy June Oneth!
After I make brunch for the crew I’m curling up with my nail tools and paints and treating myself to an overly indulgent manicure… then I’m diving head first into “My One Square Inch of Alaska.” What are you doing today?
While washing my hands this morning getting ready for another coat of lilac polish I noticed the shape of the soap took on a ghostly appearance. The creative side of me just couldn’t miss the opportunity to add some googly eyes and a post it note with BOO written on it for the next person in line for the bathroom. I thought I’d share my sudsy spirit with you today.
Mission accomplished! Sally Hanson’s Lacy Lilac nail polish is perfect for spring and summer and a statement polish for me for the lavender color which represents Lupus Awareness Month.
Today I’m finishing up my sewing collage and starting on this…..
I made this garland of buttons, beads, and bobbins for the painting I’m currently working on but it just didn’t fit in the way I wanted it to so I decided to make a special piece just for this band of bling. What better things to do this time of year than to create gardens… indoors and out!
Since the sun has taken a certain dislike to me I’ll make my garden indoors for now. I’ll share me blooms with you as they grow.
So here’s my nail secrets… I’ve been playing with my nails a lot lately and researching products and reading reviews and thought I’d share my wealth of wisdom with you.
Right now I’m using Sally Hansen Triple Strong and like it. I put on 3 coats instead of 2 and a coat a day. I take it off once a week and moisturize my nails and cuticles for a few hours with lotions while bumping around the house doing my whatnots. I’ll be switching this out when it’s gone with O.P.I. Nail Envy. I’ve read it’s the best product out there for stronger nails.
Some other nail secrets are….
I bought all of these at Walmart… and this must-have hand cream for soft hands and healthy nails I bought off Amazon.
Awesome Cream with horrible name!
See you tomorrow with more artsy-fartsy stuff.
