It’s time to bring the fall colors out and celebrate the season of apple cider and caramel apples.
Here’s a few close ups of what I’ve been doing around the living room to welcome the cool air with warm colors.
Such a beautiful hot fiery orange to see the season in with. Tomorrow is grocery day so I’ll be checking out their pumpkins both produce and canned… oh yes, and pumpkin coffee creamer too! It’s time for pumpkin bars and hot desserts. I’ll also be looking into their decorative gourds. Can’t let fall pass us by without an awesome burst of color splashed across the living room.
My work in progress is…
More on this tomorrow!
With the weather in the upper 80s and lower 90s it’s just too hot to be in my studio anytime after noon. I’ve been using my studio as my vanity as well… This has got to change as my makeup collection grows and changes as the seasons come and go. I need a decent storage area… as you can see …
The clutter of all my my art supplies and makeup and nail polish are blurring lines with each other at my desk and I’m going to need to find a solution very soon. I do have a desk downstairs but I was hoping to devote that to herbs and essential oils and reading materials. I need good lighting for both my “studio” projects… so I’m going to have to spend some time on Pinterest finding solutions for storage and whatnot.
And to think most of my products used to be confined to this…
One of these days if I don’t find a solution soon I’ll be grabbing my Acrylic Glaze instead of my moisturizer. So I’m on the search to end the mayhem and get my creativeness back on track!
I’ve been patiently waiting for my local Walgreens to carry these fun and fuzzy fibers for my fingertips. The formula is clear with tiny colored fibers in it. My first attempt was with Wool Knot – the light blue. I did an accent nail and LOVED it. It’s a bit of a chore to remove so use the soak- with- cotton- ball –wrapped -in foil –for- 5- minute method.
There are eight different “nail sweaters” to choose from so I picked out what appealed to me.
What’s your favorite Sally Hansen polish this season?
While washing my hands this morning getting ready for another coat of lilac polish I noticed the shape of the soap took on a ghostly appearance. The creative side of me just couldn’t miss the opportunity to add some googly eyes and a post it note with BOO written on it for the next person in line for the bathroom. I thought I’d share my sudsy spirit with you today.
Mission accomplished! Sally Hanson’s Lacy Lilac nail polish is perfect for spring and summer and a statement polish for me for the lavender color which represents Lupus Awareness Month.
Today I’m finishing up my sewing collage and starting on this…..
I made this garland of buttons, beads, and bobbins for the painting I’m currently working on but it just didn’t fit in the way I wanted it to so I decided to make a special piece just for this band of bling. What better things to do this time of year than to create gardens… indoors and out!
Since the sun has taken a certain dislike to me I’ll make my garden indoors for now. I’ll share me blooms with you as they grow.
They look like eyes. they both cracked the same way into the pan. I immediately saw a face and had to snap a picture for my Accidental Art collection.
I took some pictures of myself last week and the pictures really didn’t look like me…so I took some more at different angles… and still, it’s really not me and I was unable to put my finger on what’s different/wrong. After really studying what the differences were… I figured it out. Whatever has me sick is causing one side of my face to ‘swell’ –it’s quite subtle but it’s very obvious around the eye area as it make me eye look like it’s bulging a bit, much like the left egg in this photo.
I see the rheumatologist next week… so hopefully we’ll find out eggactly what’s wrong with me.
Yeah, I know the photo’s a bit blurry but it truly was challenging holding the camera with one hand. I adore the color and will be using it frequently. It’s super neutral, therefore it’s really wearable and versatile with the truly wardrobe which is presently hoodies and yoga pants. I’m not at my goal weight yet so I’m holding my birthday/Christmas cash and gift cards till mid to late spring for my first “Skinny again shopping adventure.”
Today we went window shopping in Lowe’s and my DH bought me an adorable lamp for my nightstand. I LOVE it and will share soon. I’m redoing my bedroom in a shabby chic French theme so I’ll be busy with little projects to keep my mind off my woes.
Drop in tomorrow to discover what my achievement of the week is!
Happy January and Happy New Year. It’s been a bit since I’ve been around here to chat. I’ve not been feeling all that great lately so I haven’t been creating. I’m feeling much like this puzzle that I spent the last week putting together… I’ve had more down days than I care to admit. I went to my new GP yesterday and am so happy to report that he’s absolutely awesome and he’s referring me to a Rheumatologist. He thinks I may have a connective tissue disease. I’ll keep you posted when I get my referral appointment.
Things we know…
- Raynaud’s Disease
- Peripheral Neuropathy
- Edema around the eyes
- Reoccurring Rashes
These are the visible symptoms. The rest… we won’t get into.
Today my creative endeavor is my nails! I bought a new shade of Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri and I’m going to go paint… at least I have a mini project to satisfy myself with for a short time. I’ll post a picture for you tomorrow and I’ll try to do better at keeping you up to date on what the haps are here. Until tomorrow…
God Bless You!
I’m trying very hard to work on three separate pieces but for some reason I’m having trouble concentrating and can’t get past the mudslide in my mind. Maybe it’s the mess on my desk that’s throwing me off.
Everything from A to Z has to be strewn about in this haphazard mess. Make up mirrors, heat tool, glues, paints, baggies of beads, jars of rhinestones and wooden shapes… yep… A whole bunch of brain clutter. I’m off to shop soon but if I’ll be cleaning this mess up tomorrow after I make the crew breakfast. Which by the way, is going to be something different this time around. Maybe after I have an organized area I’ll be able to focus my energy back on working on the mini’s I need to get done.
I’ll let you know if cleaning clutter cured the clog in my cranium. Until then. Go crazy creating!
I missed posting yesterday. Time got away from me and before I knew it it was too dark to photograph this card. It’s sneakily getting darker soon…and making me crazy pumpkin spiced coffees and cocoas…go figure that the store didn’t have Pumpkin Spice creamer in again. I’m now on a mission to make my own. I’ll share the recipe when I find a good one. =)
I am on time today however! And here’s the Bloomin’ Buddies I finished yesterday in time for today’s posting…
The ‘buddies’ photographed far more yellow than they are… the are actually more on the green side, much like the leaves on the body. Yummy fun with glitters and rhinestones. In her Sunday best. Have a great day and I’ll be back tomorrow for Day 8.
I started this canvas with text pages and stamping with bottle caps, then I layered it with tissue paper and painted purples over it… stamping again with bottle caps and other round objects. I used acrylics, pastel pencils, foil, glitter, epoxy, jewelry findings, beads, and various other yummy items I have in my ever-growing stash. I added a bible passage and a kite made from papers and fabrics, rub ons and bling. It turned out to be a beautiful mess.
Here are some close up shots of details…
Whatcha think? Has this art doll achieved greatness or what?
