Dream

Finally… the second commission is done. This was so much fun. It’s got layer upon layer of love. Using gesso board I started by using crumpled tissue and then washing it with color. after I had the sky and the ground defined I added texture to the background with crackle medium, flocking material, black lava, and more. I used a brick patterned stencil for the foreground and used texture flakes on the bricks. I painted them with 2 shades of red and sponged some black in to finish them off. I used acrylic fibers for the grass and some jute for the flowers, topping them with pearl embellishments and mini beads. The houses are made from wooden shapes covered with a variety of collaging paper and topped with window dressing. I added butterflies and applied sparkle glaze over the top of them and then used mini Scrabble tiles to complete the painting.

I had great fun with this and hope that the recipient enjoys it for years to come.

In honoring the final day of BCA Month I ended my series with this ATC. I used a cigar colored notebook paper by Ecopaper.com left over from my college days. I LOVE this stuff. For the background I used a Bristol board base and covered it with a Kraft colored napkin saved from take-out. Mini clothespins hold a reminder for you to get yourself tested and the base of the card is trimmed with some jute fibers for extra texture.

Halloween Ghost is finally here and the weather today is wet and rainy… very typical for a Pacific Northwest Halloween. I’ve over five bags of candy readied in a basket at the front door so all we do now is wait for the lil goblins to show their fangs and faces!

For now, I’m off to work on a few loose ends on my desk and around the house. I’ll see you tomorrow! God Bless.

I used gorgeous fabric for this ATC. The texture is scrumptious. The backing is a fiber “looking” paper in an awesome berry color that’s perfect for fall. I glued the fabric onto the body and but it out, then I sponged the edges with maroon and on the back, I used both maroon and green. The embellishments are washers from the hardware store that I used alcohol inks on and wrapped with green hemp cord. Fun, simple, and downright gorgeous. I’m loving the autumn colors.

I took care of business today by getting my yearly mammy-gram out of the way. As a reward I was gifted these pretty pinkies!

The cookie is because it’s BCA month… and the beads and applique are for doing the right thing and getting it done. Each year the radiology department I go to gives out “flair” for doing your dos. It’s incentive and encouragement for those who need a nudge. I’m now wondering what I’ll be making with the bling!

Get the girls taken care of ladies! God Bless till tomorrow and my final entry in my BCA Month series.

Green Gift Greets!

I was just playing around with materials on my desk while waiting for paint to dry this past week and decided to do something with these square cards I bought oh so many years ago. I sponged the edges, stuck each with a leaf sticker, and cut some circles from fabric and papers and glued them all together… I punched some wee little holes on the opposite side and strung some jute through them and tada! Gift tags! Super easy, super quick and the impact is powerful with the vivid colors. I’ll be putting these and several more of my creations up on my Etsy this coming week so be sure to stop by and see what’s new in the shop! I hope your Sunday is also a Funday and that you have some time for creating, or movies, or whatever it is that makes you smile! See you back here tomorrow with one mess or another. Happy Day!
