It’s been a while since I’ve posted an art piece. This is a commission I finished today. I’m working on a second and third commission now too and the second one is nearing the finish line. I’m really pleased with how this turned out. It has tons of texture. I used a crumpled up paper napkin that I peeled the white backing from for the background. Then I used a gold metallic finish rubbed in with a baby wipe for yumminess.

The flowers are enhanced with different texture mediums from gold leaf, black lava, and modeling paste, I used hardware for the centers of the yellow flowers, I painted them and added red rhinestones to the centers, the other two flowers have rhinestone centers as well.

I’ll be back soon to post the second painting in my commission as soon as it’s finished… which should be SOON!

Happy 2sday!

BeautiesOfBangelore

If you love bling you’re got to love today’s entry in my BCA Month series. Red, gold, black, and bling! LOVE it. I used everything I could get my hands on. The card itself is covered in a gold foil candy wrapper. You can get packs of them in the baking/candy isle in craft and variety stores. (They come in lots of colors as well!)

The body is cut from the inside of a Yogi Tea box. It looks just like the Henna tattoos that the women of India are famous for. Truly beautiful and artful. I would love to try that form of art.

Next I dug through my boxes of embellishments and found all these delish goodies. Enjoy the shimmers and I’ll see you tomorrow from something from the opposite side of the creative box.

Snowfall

As the leaves turn and the air chills, we prepare for winter by putting away our summer toys and stock up on cocoa. Don’t forget to buy a sweater to keep yourself warm this winter.

Today’s BCA Month ATC is brought to you by the letter S for Snowflakes! I brought on the bling for sparkle and that icy look that brings chills and makes us each grab our hoodies to keep ourselves toasty!

Tomorrow I’ll share my mini beauty haul I got on Friday while out grabbing groceries. I hit Walmart on the way home and browsed the beauty isles for something in particular that I had read up on. I’ll share it along with some reviews and I’ll add my two cents. See you then… until later! I’m off to make breakfast for the famished family. TaTa…Just kidding

PinkRibbons

I thought this would be fun. After all, who doesn’t love PINK? I really. Using several shades of pink, some ribbon, rhinestones, papers, and glitters I made this Breast Cancer Awareness Month card to mark Day 11. I enjoyed the spattering process so much on this mini project that I got pink paint all over my glasses. I was seeing spots all day before it dawned on me.

Tomorrow’s Friday! Yay! Shopping day and time to pick up the ingredients for making homemade Pumpkin Spiced Creamer for some lattes. NOM! I can almost taste it now. I love pumpkin… in cheesecake, in soups, pie, and yes… in coffee. The creamer is truly awesome in hot cocoa too! Speaking of coffee… It’s time to run downstairs and make a fresh pot! See you tomorrow for Day 12.

Glitz and Glitter

GlitzyGlimmer

It’s day 10 of my Breast Cancer Awareness Month series. Lots of glam. The glitter didn’t photograph well but this card is the fully loaded baked potato when it comes to glitz. It’s got so much glitter and shimmer that it inspired me to glam up my nails too. Check it out!

GlitterTips

Again with the photographing of glitter but you get the idea. I focus on painting just the tips of my nails with my glitter polish. I used Sally Hanson Xtreme Wear in Disco Ball. Up close and personal this polish really pops off the nail with light shimming everywhere from the rainbows of tiny specks of color. This manicure gave me a few ideas for some fun nail art that I’ll be trying next week. I’ll share more after my lab experiment. Mahhaha…

See you tomorrow for more Breast Cancer Awareness.

Extra ~ Extra! Read all about it! Sticking with a palette of black, gray and purples I managed to find enough collaging and background elements to get this painting done the way I wanted it. I simply did a gray wash over the background and started layering items of interest. From rubber-stamps, collaged lavender napkins, black lava texture, dripped pearlized crayons, and glued on mini lavender rhinestones. I purposely dressed her in text trimmed garments. with rhinestone and feather accents. She actually is bit more purple than this photo shows but such is uploading. =) With lavender eye shadow she’s ready to head off to her next super scoop story.  She’s on a serious news story so be ready for a news flash soon! I always have a fun time with all the paintings I do.. but behind the scenes you’re missing another kind of art that I’m sharing now:

This is the palette I’ve been using for well over a month. It’s simply a meat tray from buying steak/pork chops/cubed steaks/etc! By the end of six months this will be a plethora of colors that bleed together and make an art piece of their own. One color covers another and so on forever! This is the current look from the last seven paintings I’ve done. I really love when the colors start to bleed together as you can see with the green and black at the bottom right. Six more paintings and I’ll have an even FORTY 4×4″ hanging paintings… not to mention the ones I used fun fibers to hang. I’ll be getting these ready asap to varnish and add to my Etsy as the Holiday season is up and coming soon and I have SO much to finish creating and share. I do have to say that I’ve had fun so far with what I’m creating and I’m thankful that creativity is something that no-one can take away! It truly is a gift from GOD! … God… Thank you!
